As you probably already know, renovating a bathroom is a significant undertaking and for the owner of this home they wanted a design that incorporated space for a laundry area with sink as well as space for their appliances. Nu Trend provided a comprehensive bathroom renovating service from concept to completion.
This bathroom renovation showcases a refined modern contemporary style with warm natural tones and textural contrasts. The design balances function with aesthetics, combining large-format stone-look tiles with feature terracotta-toned square tiles that bring warmth and individuality to the space.

The feature wall in this bathroom uses a checkerboard-style tile layout created with square tiles in a mix of warm terracotta and neutral beige tones. Rather than being a uniform block of colour, the tiles are alternated in a repeating grid pattern, giving the wall rhythm and visual texture.
The glossy surface of some tiles reflects light differently to the matte ones, adding depth and movement to the wall.
By placing this bold pattern behind the shower and laundry splash back, Nu Trend turned it into a focal point of the room. It contrasts beautifully against the larger stone-look tiles on the surrounding walls and floors, which are deliberately neutral to let the feature wall stand out.

The walk in shower has a small seating area which makes it easy to do body scrubs, leg shaving or even wash a dog while using the shower.

The circular mirror features integrated LED backlighting, which provides a soft halo of light around its edges. This eliminates harsh shadows on the face
The discreet under-cabinet subtle illumination highlights the fluted timber detailing and gives the vanity the appearance of “floating” above the floor. It also serves as a practical night light, offering gentle illumination without needing to switch on the main ceiling lights.

A huge wall niche in the shower creates lots of space to store soap, shampoo and other bathroom products so they are within easy reach.
Laundry space
The carefully reconfigured bathroom layout makes space for a fully integrated laundry zone without compromising the flow of the room. By allocating one wall specifically for cabinetry and appliances, they were able to create a streamlined area that combines function with design.
Tall overhead cabinets were installed to maximise vertical storage, while a stacked washer and dryer unit was built into a custom joinery niche, making efficient use of floor-to-ceiling space.
